It all started with an art experience

In 2022, Allan Castellanos, a sound designer and IT Systems Engineer, and Luiza Preda, a multimedia artist and production designer, embarked on an ambitious project as part of their graduation thesis at Tampere University of Applied Sciences.

They formed a multidisciplinary team to create Aerial Roots, an immersive art experience supported by Tampere Cultural Grant, the City of Tampere, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, and various AV partners from Finland. Aerial Roots transformed 1,000 square meters of the Himmelblau Art Gallery into a multi-sensory environment, blending art with interactive AV technologies.

The exhibition's success exceeded expectations. Impressed by the emotional impact on the local community, the gallery director extended the show by an additional week. In less than three weeks, Aerial Roots exhibition attracted more than 450 visitors.

From art to business

In 2023, Allan and Luiza won the Genelec Prize at Aalto University’s Art & Tech Competition for their immersive AV installation idea, Oasis

After a key meeting with the Genelec team, who were supportive of their unique vision on why to merge art and technology, Allan and Luiza decided to developing Oasis. Three months later, their project was accepted into the Compass Business Incubator, supported by the University of Helsinki and the City of Helsinki.

This marked a turning point. They realized that Aerial Roots and Oasis art&tech installations were more than art installations—they represented a new way of creating meaningful, memorable experiences for a big range of people.
